1. Sleepy Wrap
I was very hesitant in investing in a wrap at first. The idea of carrying our baby in what seems like a piece of fabric really scared me! All I kept thinking was “Oh no, what about if he falls” and “No way, it’s not strong enough to carry a baby.” Well, I decided to get out of that mindset and give a wrap a try. I ended up finding the Sleepy Wrap on Amazon and I cannot tell you how much of a life saver it has been for us! I wouldn’t get anything done if it wasn’t for this wrap. Also, this wrap is so affordable unlike the others on the market!
2. Dr. Brown Bottles
If you have a colicky baby then these are definitely the bottles for you! Our baby gets a lot of colic and we tried numerous of things to get rid of his pain. Changing our regular ol’ bottles to these Dr. Brown bottles was the best thing we’ve done for him. These bottles suck out all of the air from the bottle which helps your baby suck in less air while feeding! Also, they do have regular neck bottles but our baby is a big eater so we decided to go with these ones.
3. Wubbanub Infant Pacifier
One of our close friends gifted us this Wubbanub pacifier and I was so stoked for our baby to use it because I’ve heard many wonderful things about this product. At first, our baby hated this pacifier! He would rather suck on the one he was given at the hospital. Surprisingly, a couple of weeks later he started to really like it! I personally love this pacifier because not only is the pacifier itself of great quality BUT it comes with a little stuffed animal! The stuffed animal prevents the pacifier from falling once your baby stops sucking on it. My baby loves to fall asleep with this pacifier and sometimes he’ll stop sucking and the pacifier stays in place until he’s ready to suck again! Also, he is starting to hold the monkey with his own little hands which is just too adorable! Such a great invention!
4. Zen Swaddle
The Zen Swaddle is also a product worth the investment. If you’re a first time mommy like myself then you are definitely guilty of spoiling your baby by having them in your arms ALL the time. Harmless right? No. Unfortunately, what we don’t realize is that our babies can get used to being in our arms which makes nap time and sleeping at night way more difficult. The sleepy wrap has light weight pads on the chest and sides that mimic our touch. Talk about tricking your baby! So far, I’ve been loving this swaddle, it makes our night time routine soooo much easier.
5. Burt Bee’s Baby Oil
Honestly, I wasn’t a big fan of the idea of putting baby oil on my little one. Most baby oils are mineral based oils which can be very harmful for your baby in the long run. However, There are MANY great oils that are not mineral oil based. However, we’ve been loving the Burt’s Bees Baby oil. It definitely keeps our baby’s skin hydrated without the harmless chemicals.
6. Earth Mama Organics Baby Lotion
My baby has VERY sensitive and dry skin. It definitely was a mission finding a great product that actually worked with his skin. Luckily, I came across Earth Mama’s Organic Baby lotion. I cannot tell you enough how great this product has been to us! We use it twice a day to relief our baby’s dry skin.
7. Gripe Water
Like I mentioned before, my little one gets a lot of colic. Ever since we discovered that he suffered from colic, we looked for remedies and products that would ease his pain. After looking for solutions, my uncle gifted us Mommy Bliss Gripe Water and sweared that it worked miracles. Well, I have to say it really does! It especially helps when our baby gets fussy during the night, One dose of this miracle water and he falls right to sleep!
8. Triple Paste Medicated Ointment- Diaper Cream
A couple weeks after our baby was born he got a very bad diaper rash. I couldn’t stand that my baby was in pain. We tried Decetin and it didn’t seem to do much for his rash. So, I decided to go ahead and try out the triple paste cream. (mostly because it was a gift and might as well try it out) This diaper cream is certainly the best cream out in the market. The very horrible rash was totally gone in a couple of hours after applying this cream. I honestly could not believe it! Now, when I see that my baby’s bottom is a little red I just apply some of this and like magic the redness is gone! To be honest, we are so obsessed with this cream that we have stocked up like crazy.
9. Baby Wipe Warmer
I seriously think this invention is so darn genius! If your newborn is anything like ours, he or she will HATE being wiped with a cold baby wipe in the middle of the night. I mean think about it… Would you like someone to wipe your bottom in the middle of the night with an ice cold wipe?! No, I didn’t think so. My friend gifted us our baby wipe warmer but you can find an affordable one here.
10. Owl Infant positioner
I really wanted to invest in a Snuggle Me Organic or a DockATot. These two sleepers are amazing products which unfortunately also have a high price tag. However, we were gifted this infant positioner and I’ve got to say it really gets the job done. My baby loves it!
It’s also very important to consider that your newborn baby is his or her own person. Some products might not work for your baby as well as others will. Keep an opened mind and look for products that will benefit your baby and make your mommy life much easier.
