I feel like I say this in every update but can you believe Baby JuJu is already 3 months! Wow, the time really does fly by and Juju can’t stop growing. A lot of things have change this month and I would love to share them with you!
Baby Juju now weighs 15 LB and measures 1ft and 4cm long. One of the things that I am mostly proud of this month is his sleep. A couple of weeks ago JuJu got into the habit of staying up all night. He would sleep at 10pm and wake up at 1pm for a feeding. Well, after his feeding he would stay up till 6 in the morning! It was so frustrating and tiring. Some how we managed to sleep train baby JuJu and he is currently sleeping throughout the nights! (with the exception of one waking up for a feeding) I am so happy about this because I no longer have to stay up all night.
Sleep Training Routine: Two hours before bed time we bathe Julius and start our night routine. Juju’s night routine consists of a big bottle feeding, a dim room with white noises and a pair of cozy PJs.
Baby Julius is the king of baby noises. Every morning as soon as he wakes up he starts smiling and talking to me! It is the most adorable thing ever. I’ve noticed that every time that I talk to him he looks at my lips and tries to mimic the things I say.
On top of being a big talker, he has started to laugh, smile and mimic emotions as well. As soon as he sees a smile on someone’s face he is sure to smile back.
JuJu has also discovered the power of his hands this month. From scratching to grabbing-he does it all. I will sometimes even catch him swatting at his crib mobile and at the toys on his play mat.
Drooling is something he just started doing very recently and let me tell you he drools like crazy! Sometimes my shirt will be soaked from all his drool..it’s pretty intense. JuJu has also started putting his fist inside his mouth and he definitely prefers to nibble on his fist instead of on a teether.
My favorite thing about this month is that he finally started to like tummy time! He absolutely hated tummy time last month and he would scream like crazy if we left him on his tummy for too long!
Last month baby JuJu was not a big fan of bath time. He would scream, shout and grab on to our shirts. In fact, right after his bath he would alway seem to be wide awake! Well, this month things have changed. JuJu loves bath time now and it’s so darn cute! My husband Julio takes this time to bond with him and JuJu loves it. Right after bath time, JuJu is usually pretty tired. We start his night routine and it is off to bed for the rest of the night. It’s amazing!
As for me, I’m finally feeling comfortable in my body. I’m starting to fully except that my body will never be exactly how it was before getting pregnant. I’m starting to realize that my body is powerful because it created something so beautiful. Postpartum is hard..Sometimes I will get into a weird mood and It makes me feel like my body isn’t mine. My hormones were all over the place last month and even though it’s getting better I have noticed that I’ve been having a lot of hair fallout. One of my friends told me that it’s quite normal so I am not too worried about it. Besides that, life after birth has been great. I am so proud of what my body has created.
I can’t wait to update you all on all the new milestones baby JuJu accomplishes next month!
P.S what was your baby’s first milestone?
